33 Weeks Pregnant with Will

Baby’s Size: Durian Fruit… whatever that is
How far along: 33 Weeks
Total weight gain: About 20 lbs. I put on about 2 pounds this week. I think at least half a pound should have gone straight to Will (maybe more) so I’m okay with that. I’ve been eating more than usual. I know that. I need to watch what I eat though to make sure that any weight I gain is at least from good sources. Sweets have sounded really good lately though. =)
Sleep:  Not been that great lately. I not only get up quite a few times a night but I have a lot of trouble staying comfortable. It’s okay except for the fact that there is no sleeping in and no real naps because even when Kenzie naps I have a ton of things to get done. We had an issue a few nights ago with our power going off at night for some reason. It happened twice. It gets hot FAST when the air goes out. The second time it went out it was out for much longer. Not fun. It woke me up both times and I would get so hot that I had trouble getting back to sleep.
Maternity Clothes: Pretty much. Still have a few things I can wear that aren’t maternity and just stretch.
Food cravings: Sweets lately. Weird for me. Usually I am all about salty foods and most of my “cravings” thus far have involved salty food.
Symptoms I HAVE: All the norm still. Heartburn, Braxton Hicks, the numbness in my left leg periodically, tiredness, etc. Nothing new to report.
Stretchmarks:  No new ones.
Doctor’s Appointment:  Next week. =)
Movement:  Of course. He is still moving like crazy. I think he has been moving slightly less as he is getting bigger and bigger. He mainly just pushes into my ribs or bladder when he stretches out. Not as many all out kicks any longer.
Belly Button (In or Out): In. Now Steven has decided that it will stay that way. We shall see.
Wedding Ring (On or Off): On.
Labor Signs: None.
Gender: Boy!
Happy or Moody Most of the Time: Happy
Best moment of the week: We had a few. UCF football! College Football in general! We also had Will’s crib delivered this weekend. Super fun! Almost done with his room. I can’t wait to get it all together.
What I’m looking forward to: Finishing up Will’s room. Getting my hospital bag packed. Finishing Kenzie’s big sis gift from Will. So much to do but all of it is so fun!

What I miss: Sleeping peacefully at night. That won’t be happening for quite some time though.

Welcome Back to Your Regularly Scheduled Programming

It's almost time! School is upon us. The kids in our county return on Wednesday. Kenzie's first day of school is next Tuesday. Monday we will have Meet the Teacher during the day and then Tuesday will be her first day of VPK. More on all that in a minute... This week though officially started our return to normalcy. It's about time! Kenzie started back to dance on Monday. The fall season started and she was so excited. She was asking me all day about when it would be time to go to dance. She was just so ready to get back to it. This season/year we have elected to stay with the same teacher she had last year, Ms. Rebekah. Kenzie loved her so it seemed like a great bet when we found out that she was going to be teaching Pre-K 2. This year will be a lot like last year in that they will do ballet, tap, and tumbling but the skills we be more advanced. More "dance language" will be used (though Ms. Rebekah has always focused on giving them proper terminology anyway)...

Eight is Great!

Today Kenzie is EIGHT! It's so crazy. We have an 8 year old. Only two years away from double digits. A third grader. A girl that is quickly becoming a preteen. There is only a year left (technically) until that is officially the stage we are in. Though I have to say... she acts more and more like an actual preteen every day of her life. She's too much. We often joke that she is 8 going on 28, but in all honesty, she is an old soul and often acts much older than her years. At 8-years-old, Kenzie... - Is still the friendliest kid I know. She loves with her whole heart. She hates to hurt anyone's feelings. The downside is that her feelings get hit hard when someone isn't nice to her. We have had to deal with that on occasion, especially in the last year when we had a run in with a girl that Kenzie thought was her friend but she ended up being not really nice to Kenzie in the long run. We learned as parents that the "mean girl" stage starts early. Kenzie...

Goodbye Preschool... Hello Elementary School!

Bear with me... this post is not only about Kenzie's final day at school but all the crazy things (they are just crazy to me because I can't believe that little 7 lbs 6 oz baby is about to be in kindergarten) leading up to it that are preparing her for being a kindergartener so it is a bit long. Aaaaannnnndddd... That's it. We have reached the end of an era for Kenzie. At least the end of a stage of sorts. We have officially left behind the preschool stage and are getting ready to embark on the "school age" section of her life. These last few weeks have been... emotional. About three weeks ago we took our happy selves over to the elementary school and attended the kindergarten orientation for our baby girl. Who isn't actually much of a "baby" anymore despite my protests. We were able to take a tour of the school and see some of the kindergarten classrooms, the specials classrooms, cafeteria, clinic, and media center. The kids were all given t...
