Thursday, January 30, 2014 18 Months Old Dear Mackenzie, Happy 18 month birthday! Happy 1/2 birthday! Happy girl! I can't believe you are 18 months old today. I swear, just yesterday I was holding you in my arms in the recovery room at the hospital just staring at you amazed at how beautiful you were (still are). Now, you are a full of energy, loving life, smiling, giggling, sometimes temper tantrum throwing toddler. You are no longer my "baby" though you will always be my baby. I haven't written you a letter in so long that I have a lot to catch you up on when telling you about how you have grown and changed in the last 6 months. So, let me try to organize this in some sort of way... Seriously... this face. You are constantly cracking us up. Eating: Shortly after your first birthday we started the full on weaning process. I can't believe 2013 has come to a close and we have ushered in 2014 already. It has been a great year for us. We have had our fair share of tough times but we made it through with smiles on our faces and a lot of love. Christmas this year was the first one that Kenzie was able to participate in. Last year she just sort of stared at us like we were crazy when we handed her to a bearded man in a red coat and then slept during pictures taken in front of her grandparents' Christmas tree before their annual Christmas party. This year, she started to get into the spirit of things despite not understanding everything that is going on. We started a few new traditions this year though so set up our family times throughout the holiday seasons to come. To start we chose to do an Advent Calendar this year but with a bit of a twist. We elected to do activities instead of handing out chocolates or little prizes. Some activities resonated more with Kenzie than others but I think as the yea
