C25K - Week 5

As with every week... this week was no joke. This was the first week that all 3 days were not the same. It very quickly escalates into maddness in Week 5. Very quickly. Week 5, Day 1 - Woah! The program required me to do a 5 minute warm up walk, run 5 minutes, walk 3, run 5, walk 3, run 5, and then cool down for 5. Ha! Now, I totally meant to do this day far sooner than I did, but I had no idea a crazy stomach virus was going to work its way through our family one by one making sure to take out each one of us. This virus was no joke either. It took each of us down for a minimum of about 4 days (though we were only "sick" for about 8 hours). Those 4 days of my own combined with still feeling kind of off for a few days before and after as well as tending to 2 sick children (and 1 very sick adult) was enough to make me want to hand in my Mommy card for a while and take an extended vacation somewhere without sick germs. That being said, it was over a week between the last day o

Easter Weekend Recap

This weekend was/is Easter weekend and it was quite busy for us. It started for us on Friday when I met up with Mom Y to get the kids' Easter gifts since we were unable to see them the day before because Dad Y was sick. Poor Mom Y ended up taking hours upon hours to get to Sanford to meet me and then home again. I felt terrible. No offense though... better her than me. Haha. She knows I think that too. I can't imagine being stuck with two kids in traffic that long. Though, if I were stuck alone... I might enjoy it. While we were down near the mall, I took the kids to Toys R Us to spend the last of a gift card they had from Christmas. This last week was Spring Break so I had both kids around 24/7. They were really good all week too so we decided we would let them spend the end of the gift card. Kenzie chose a Doc McStuffins Pet Vet kit and Will got a stuffed TMNT. Rafael, I think. I'm going to have to brush up on my TMNT stuff soon. I just remember that Michaelangelo lo

The Stomach Virus Heard Round the Young House

Well, if I hadn't already earned my Mommy Card (and I'm pretty sure you do that first night with a baby when you stay up all night alternating between feeding, comforting, crying because you are tired, and then freaking out because baby is actually sleeping but you worry they stopped breathing)... I totally solidified my place in the club last week. In all honesty, by the end of the week, I was tempted to take that Mommy Card, tear it into pieces, and throw them all out a window while driving down the interstate at 70mph. Before turning around and picking them all up again and taping them together because I would never give up my place in the club. Let's backtrack though. I'm going to give the account of the week that is less TMI than the story I could tell. Despite Instagram and Facebook posts that portray the opposite sometimes, parenthood definitely isn't all sunshine and roses. The week of the stomach bug really tested us. I never want to do that again (though

Disney Days - Magic Kingdom with Nana and Papa

This weekend we spent some time with Nana and Papa and did Day 5 of our 6 Day Family Disney Tour (2nd day with Nana and Papa) at Magic Kingdom. The weekend started a bit early for us though when Steven was able to work some extra time and get off work Friday. I say that like it was some sort of bonus for him to get home late every night... there is a bonus in that he gets to take days away from work but having him be late every night for a couple weeks in a row, isn't easy. But I digress... Anyway, we met my parents for dinner on Thursday night as they drove into town. They had a 3 night minimum at the timeshare they used, so they decided to come in Thursday night. We met at Bob Evans for dinner and other than the napkins, plates, and silverware, I think the kids ate everything on the table. There is a definite growth spurt (or 2) going on around here. After dinner, my parents went down to the timeshare and we went home to get ready for the weekend.  Friday morning after my
