Goodbye 2014!

I can't believe this is the last day of 2014. It seems like January 1, 2014 was so very long ago and yet just yesterday. So much has happened this year in our family and I think it has likely been our best year yet. In January (early February) we found out that we were going to be having Baby Young #2! We held off on announcing that secret until March, but I remember the day we found out very well. I also remember that terrible morning sickness all too well. We took our annual cruise with Ryan and Jen again this year in April. Again, I was pregnant so I could have stood in as the designated sailor if the captain wanted to have a few libations. =) It was still a ton of fun though and I can't wait to do it again this year. Maybe we can even add a few more friends this year. In late May we had our Team Pink vs Team Blue gender reveal party and found out that Team Blue was going home with the trophy! We were over the moon excited that we would be adding B

Friday Favorites - Elf on the Shelf Edition (Week 4)

This was Kenny's final week in our home. Honestly, I'm so thankful that Kenzie is so easily amused. Having a toddler and infant is tiring enough. Remembering to move Kenny or finding ways to make him creative sometimes requires more energy than I seem to be able to muster. I'm so glad Kenzie enjoyed having him in the house though. I am excited for his return next year. I will have way more supplies ready for more creative Kenny days. On Day 1 Kenny showed up with a gift. He brought us a gingerbread village kit! The day's activity was obviously a craft (putting together our village). Kenzie LOVED this activity. She talked for days about making "building" since we had a whole village. The village also ended up being perfect as the centerpiece for our appetizers table on Christmas Day. Kenzie only snuck a small amount of candy. I, actually, really liked this one too. I haven't ever made a gingerbread house before so it was so much fun experiencing it

Friday Favorites - Elf on the Shelf Edition (Week 3)

I can't believe next week is set to be the last week of Kenny's place in our home for the year. It seems like we just started this yesterday. I know I say that because I am not one of the parents yet that needs to come up with super creative ideas each day. Sit that crazy elf in the tree and my kid thinks it is funny. Do it a second time and she thinks it is hilarious. Warning: This is a fairly pic heavy post... Day 1 of this week brought us Kenny building with Kenzie's blocks. The day's activity was actually one of my favorite of the month. Making reindeer food! It is super easy and we get to give it to our family and friends as well. It is just oatmeal (uncooked oats of course) and sprinkles. You mix it together, put it in a cute bag, and add a nifty little tag. On Christmas Eve day we will be sprinkling it in our yard to attract Santa's reindeer. Our neighbors have some too so I'm sure he can't miss our house! On Day 2 Kenny showed up
