A Normal July Week (Summer Bucket List Week 5)

Around here, July means one thing. Birthdays. Mine, Steven's, Kenzie's, other family members... even America. So, last week we celebrated my birthday along with that of our great country. This week we moved on to celebrating Aunt Danielle's (my sis-in-law) birthday along with our anniversary. We didn't do a ton during the week after Steven returned to work following the Fourth of July holiday. He left Wednesday morning for work and then headed out to Melbourne until Thursday afternoon. Hopefully that was set to be one of his final visits there for a while. He shouldn't be going back this week unless there is an issue and then we go on our Keys trip so hopefully he won't return any sooner than the week after we get back. (Though there is a good chance he will be back that week.) Because of how his work week ended up, he was able to take a half day on Friday. We didn't do too much other than run some errands but it gave us some family time. We probably sh...

A Photo Journey of Eleven

On the ELEVENTH anniversary, the traditional gift given to celebrate is steel. Steel is valued for its durability and strength. Steel is a mixture of iron and carbon making it virtually resistant to corrosion and damage. Steel is tough... and so are we. On this day eleven years ago, we stood in front of a congregation filled with family and friends and said "I do" to one another. We've come a long way in eleven years. We've grown up from these little babies that were wide eyed and bushy tailed ready to go out into the big world together to two people that know that making a marriage (or any relationship) work takes hard work, patience, forgiveness, and love. It's crazy to think that it was eleven years ago that we put on those fancy clothes and danced the night away. In honor of our 11th anniversary, I figured I would share eleven pictures of us through the years. 2006 - We stood in front of roughly 100 people to vow to love one another as long as we both shal...

Young Summer of Fun - Bucket List Update (Week 5)

How on earth are we already about half way through our summer?? I am not 100% sure yet when Kenzie will start school, but based on the counties around us, I am going to assume it is somewhere around August 10 or maybe the week after. Crazy early this year! Anyway, that means we are steadily working our way through the summer. Some of our bucket list items might need to be pushed and completed even after school starts. I think our goal is to finish them all by Labor Day. Anyway, this weekend we checked off one item. Let's recap the weekend, shall we? Friday was actually our 10 year wedding anniversary . Seriously. 10 years already. And that is 10 years married... we have been together for 16. That's about half my life at this point. Crazy to think we have been together that long. We didn't have anything planned for our actual anniversary (typical) because we wanted to spend time as a family and had plans for later in the weekend when we would be alone without the kids. I...
