New Years 2018: Family, Football, and Fun

Life has been so nutty around here for the last few months that it has taken me a while to catch up on some of the posts I have wanted to write. One of those is one about New Years 2018. We had such a great weekend and it isn't something we want to forget (though it will be long before that happens). So in the interest of documenting the memories, I wanted to post about it. Before I get to the actual New Years holiday though, I have to back up a bit and talk about our alma mater. UCF managed to do something in the regular football season that no other team could do this year. Go undefeated. It's hard to believe that just two years ago they went winless. Crazy. There were some serious anxiety provoking games (especially at the end), but they did it. They managed to win every game they played which meant winning the conference championship. As the winners of that game, we knew that they were likely going to play in one of the New Years 6 bowls. Namely, the Peach Bowl in Atlanta...

A Second A Day 2017

Back in January of this year we set out on a project that ended up being a bit more time consuming than I anticipated but turned out so amazing! It was definitely a labor of love to keep up with this project all year long and the final product is seriously one of my favorite things ever. I have to admit that many times we ended up with closer to 2 seconds per day but that is why I loved putting this together the way I did. It allowed me that freedom if I really wanted a slightly longer clip. If you are friends with Steven or me on Facebook, you have likely already seen this posted and may have even watched it. I will warn you, it isn't short, but we love it and we wanted to share it here too since we know we have some family and friends that read the blog as a way to keep up with our family. Without further ado, we give you A Second A Day for our family in 2017. Enjoy!

Fourth of July Weekend (Summer Bucket List Week 4)

I think this blog may be better titled, "The Summer Struggle is Real". Not bad. Just real. It's hard to believe we are four weeks into this summer. First because it seems like it shouldn't be that long as if it just started last week and then because it seems like summer has been going on for-ev-er. This weekend we were able to take a long weekend with Steven. Our plans were almost derailed on Wednesday before the weekend when something came up at work for Steven and we thought he would end up having to work most of (if not all of) the weekend. We lucked out that he was able to figure everything out and still take the weekend. THEN on Friday after Will's swimming lesson and drop off for VBS had already taken place and we figured we were home free, Steven got an email from work that something happened out in Melbourne and he spent the next 2 hours on the phone trying to troubleshoot the issue with the people out there. So, that sort of mixed up some of our pla...
