High FIVE! Happy birthday, Will!

Today Will is officially five years old. A whole hand! He is our baby. He isn't supposed to grow up! I'm in denial. At the same time, I am so excited to watch him continue to grow and learn. At FIVE, Will... ... is ridiculously tall. Everyone keeps asking if he hit a growth spurt overnight. He might have. He ate a whole lot and slept 12+ hours a night for a week or two. After that was when everyone started asking if he grew overnight. So, maybe he did. I don't know. All I know is that all of his 5t pants were too short all of a sudden and his shorts had to be cycled through to make sure they still hit as close to his knees as possible. He also went to a size 12-13 shoe all of a sudden. He is around 45.75 inches tall (94th percentile). He also weighs around 40 pounds (44th percentile). Still very tall and thin. ... loves to eat but remains pretty picky. Honestly, he would graze all day if you let him. He gets it honest. That is how I like to eat. He is still pi...

Welcome to 4-and-a-half, Little Man!

Holy cow! Will is now officially closer to being five than four. I can't believe he will be a whole hand old in just a short 6 months. We like our half-birthdays around here. A very merry unbirthday to you! Anyway, in the interest of remembering to document what Will was like halfway to five, here we go! So, at 4-and-a-half, Will... ... is somewhere around 44.25 to 44.75 inches at this point. Measuring him at home is... interesting as he is a wiggler and very ticklish so the slightest touch and he collapses in giggles which makes measuring him difficult. Anytime I do it, I get between 44.25 and 44.75 so we are going to assume somewhere around there is right. Also, he rode Expedition Everest for the first time about a month or so ago and the height limit is 44". We had him measured against the height thingy and he was obviously tall enough. All that to say he is quite tall. If he is 44.5 (split the difference), then he is at about the 96th percentile. He weighs aroun...

It's Baseball Season!!

It's the moment we have anxiously waited for since we found out Will was going to join our family. A kiddo that may want to play baseball. Now, there is no saying that Kenzie couldn't, of course... but she has always been more into things like dance and the like so although she has talked about playing softball since Will started t-ball, we know she would rather dance and do Girl Scouts. Also, our rule at this point is two activities that take up time after school for right now. We have to learn how to say no sometimes. All that being said, we finally got to the baseball point in our lives. In Apopka, baseball is sort of king. The team sports Apopka offers are great. We know plenty of people that play a lot of them but there is something about baseball in this area. The Apopka Little League is well known enough that Steven had someone at work mention it when he said something about Will playing t-ball this season. So, that's what we were walking into. Will officially...

Happy 4th Birthday, Little Man!

Dear Will, Wow! Here we are. On your fourth birthday. Four years old already. Almost a whole hand. You have been such a joy to watch learn and grow this year and we are so happy we were chosen to be your parents to get to witness it. You just keep getting bigger and bigger. When you started school this year, everyone remarked about how you apparently shot up over the summer. We don't notice it, but after having a ton of people tell us, we decided you must have gotten a lot taller. So, we measured you. And lo and behold, you were tall. You had your official 4 year appointment today so the official measurements are 42 inches tall (85th percentile) and 35.4 pounds (50th percentile). It's official, you have left your sister behind at the same age at this point. Not surprising being that you are a boy and you have quite a few tall people in this family bringing you up. You are still riding the tall and skinny train, for sure. As a matter of fact, your BMI is at 4%. The ...
