A Weekend "Away" at Grandma and Grandaddy's House

This weekend we fulfilled a main item on our summer bucket list... "Staying with Grandma and Grandaddy". We did this last year and had a great time. This year was a bit more difficult because we had to work around school schedules. But... we made it work. The other downfall is that I am working without my Canon Rebel at the moment so I wish I had better pictures at times but didn't have the option. Mine broke in Weeki Wachee a few weeks back and hasn't been replaced yet. Friday started with Steven deciding to stay home and work from home a portion of the day. He dropped Kenzie off at school which let me stay home with Will and get some laundry and stuff done. When he got home, we decided to go for a walk to get some steps in since we knew we would be driving a lot during the day and miss some prime stepping opportunity. It was nice to just push one child instead of two. Eventually I packed up Will and the dog and left Steven and home so we could go drop Jack off ...

A Week "Away" - Staying with Nana & Papa... Part 2 (Summer Bucket List - Week 1)

I think I failed to mention in the last post (though the title should have given us away) that this week is fulfilling one of our bucket list items. This year we added back "Stay with Nana and Papa" to the list. The difference in this year and last year is that last year it was mainly the kids that stayed with Nana and Papa. I did too because we also used it as a day to get the carpets cleaned but that meant that Steven wasn't there. This year, he has been able to stay as well. We have talked about the possibility of letting the kids stay with them another night but we will likely be so busy in the next few months that we didn't know if that would even be an option. Anyway, I wanted to make mention that we are filling in a checkbox on the bucket list this week. Also, one main difference with how we work on our bucket list versus our Spring Happenings list is that our spring events were planned out week by week beforehand.
