Hello Sweet Summertime!

It is officially almost that time of year. No, not actual summer. That started a few days ago. It's almost July. Anyone who knows us well (or maybe not even that well) knows that July is by far the busiest month of the year for us. We literally count down to July as we begin to approach it every year because we are mentally preparing ourselves for the month. The first July event we hit is my birthday. We are going very, very low key this year with our birthdays as we have chosen to spend more time and effort on our kids and less on ourselves at this point. We still have plans to meet up with both sets of parents to have lunch to celebrate. Then, we have July 4th. Every year we try to go down to Lake Eola to see the fireworks. Steven's office is right on the lake so we can actually sit upstairs in his office and watch the fireworks from an air conditioned room with a nice bathroom down the hall. The only way to do the fireworks. =) The Monday after July 4th is going to be W

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star(band)

Well, today was the day. We experienced what we were informed could be called the "Enlightenment Appointment." Luckily, Steven was able to stay home today and go with us to this appointment. This is actually the first helmet related appointment that he has been able to attend so it was nice having him there. As of today Will has worn his helmet for approximately 5 1/2 weeks. We were initially informed that we could expect him to wear it around 10-12 weeks total. As I have mentioned before, his flattening is minimal. We were more concerned with the alignment of his ears and his forehead being pushed forward. Today we didn't see Ms. Jackie but saw a very nice woman whose name escapes me at the moment. We made it there really early and the kids played together (very nicely might I add) until it was time for our appointment. This appointment took place in a different room than we usually go into. This one had the black box of torture. Gasp! Luckily, Will didn'

8 Months! That's 2/3 of the way to 1 year! Stop it!

Dear Will, Happy 8 months my dear Little Man! I cannot believe 8 months has passed by so quickly. It seems like yesterday we brought you home from the hospital, then I blinked, and now we are here. This is just crazy. You are such a adorable and loving little guy. You seriously have an awesome personality and I still can't believe that you are ours sometimes. We got pretty lucky. So, we do not have your next doctor's appointment until next month. That means we are again left to our own devices when it comes to gathering your height and weight. As usual, it should be taken with a grain of salt. We aren't the experts. You weigh right around 20 pounds. I came up with 28 inches again this month. It is possible that your growth has slowed, but based on how you go through clothing I think you are growing. I was either off and estimated you high before or I am off now and am estimating you low. We will see for sure next month at the doc. You are entirely in 12 month c

Keys Vacation 2015 Day 7: Home Again

Today was the final day of our vacation if you include going home as an actual day. Everyone slept great last night. Will actually did 3 hour stretches all night so that was good. We got up around 7:40 this morning and went down to breakfast. Kenzie didn't eat to eat again but we got a bit of food into Will. After breakfast we went back to the room and got everyone ready to head the pool for a bit. The hotel has a great pool that even has a waterfall.  The kids loved the pool again. Kenzie and Daddy went under the waterfall. I tried to take Will both the force of the falling water was a bit much for him. He wasn't a fan. Either way the water was cool and awesome. We had a bit of an issue again getting Kenzie out, but nothing like the pool in Marathon. When we got back upstairs we all changed and started our final packing. It wasn't too bad and we had the car loaded pretty quickly. Somehow we are leaving with less than we came with, it seems. I think it

Keys Vacation 2015 Day 6: Fort Lauderdale

So, first our daily recap of sleeping... Will did much better last night in his own room. We put him in the common area of our hotel room. Once he went down he woke up every two hours. Some might think that is a problem, but it is fairly common for Will so I will call it a win. The plus is that because he was in another room and I am able to jump up to deal with him at the drop of a hat, everyone else in the room slept wonderfully. He woke up around 7 and we woke everyone else up around 7:30 so we could start our day. Once we all got dressed for the day, we went downstairs for breakfast. We love the breakfasts at Embassy Suites. They are really convenient and filled with a lot of different foods. Unfortunately, we are on the final leg of a trip which means that Kenzie is refusing most food. We think that (like me) her stomach doesn't deal well with eating out a lot of times in a row. We have luckily been able to get fruit into her at every meal at least, so she is getting somethi

Keys Vacation 2015 Day 5: Marathon to Fort Lauderdale

So last night was... interesting. I mentioned in my prior post that Will had a bit of a difficult time going to sleep, but eventually he went down. We were all actually in bed by 9:30 and I don't think I saw the clock hit 9:35. We were all exhausted. Will actually only woke up twice between 9:30 and 4:00. Then, at 4:00, I coughed. I choked on spit or something and actually sort of gagged... but it was loud. Lo and behold, I woke up Will. I thought it wouldn't be a big deal and I would just nurse him and back to bed he would go. I was wrong though. Apparently he thought that my coughing was an alarm clock and it meant it was time to get up for the day. I tried to contain him in the room for a while but he was fussing off an on and talking when he wasn't fussing. Kenzie was starting to romp around so I knew it was waking her up and I already knew that Steven was awake, as well. So, I elected to leave the comfort of our hotel room and head down to the lobby so that my family t
