Christmas Advent Activities 2017 Week 3

Another fun week is over. We got some more fun things done this week. And had a bit of a snag at the end of the week... On Day 12 Kenny needed a bit of a pick me up apparently. Honestly, this is an idea that he borrowed from a friend of mine and the kids thought it was funny. They knew he was drinking coffee just like Mommy and Daddy. Our activity for the day was to decorate the kids' doors. This is something we do every year and each year they help more and more. They also help come up with the ideas for what we will do. Kenzie actually wanted an entire snow related landscape with her sitting on Santa's lap but I had to shut that down. Instead we settled on a fireplace for her. This was good because I was able to reuse some things I had from last year when I made a "fireplace" in our living room for our stockings to hang over. She thought this entire thing was amazing. Christmas Advent Activities 2017 Week 1 - Kenny is Back!!

First some backstory for anyone that may be new to our little blog. For 4 years running now we have spent December doing what we refer to as "Christmas Advent Activities." These are basically just an activity a day related to the Christmas season that we do as a sort of countdown to the big day. We love traditions in this family and this is just one more that we have started up with our little family unit over the years. The activities are mostly the same year after year just rearranged to fit into our busy schedule. Every year we seem to add a new thing or two, but mostly we keep to a specific list as there are certain things we like to get done. Then, for the last two years, we have had a helper. Kenny, our elf, was adopted two (or was it three?) years ago and the kids think he is hilarious.
