Thankful

Today is a day to reflect on all we are thankful for. I think that is something that we should do far more often than once a year, but in the spirit of the holiday, I wanted to do just that. So, in lieu of a traditional holiday recap, I have decided that this post is going to be dedicated to some of the things I (we) are thankful for, with a bit of a recap thrown in for good measure because we had an amazing day filled with family, food, and fun. Here are just a few of the things we are thankful for this year... in no particular order. Family. Without our family, we would be nothing. We have the most amazing kids, parents, siblings, and niece. Unfortunately, we were without Julie, Eric, and Evie, but they are still very important and we are very thankful for each one of them. We are blessed with some amazing people in our lives. Today, we had both sets of grandparents and my brother, Rick, and soon-to-be sister-in-law, Danielle, with us for Thanksgiving dinner. We had a great time

Another Day, Another Park

It's official. Both of our children are park obsessed. As soon as Kenzie wakes up in the morning, she asks what park we are going to today. It started as "Can we go to the park today?" and now she just assumes we will go and asks which one we will be going to. Will obviously can't ask yet, but he loves to be at the park. He loves swings and crawling around on the playground equipment. He has gotten really good at managing stairs and likes to slide (with help). Then, he cries when we leave. I am LOVING this stage... at last with Kenzie. I love that she is such an outdoors girl. To top it off, we live in an awesome place because despite our hot summers, we have wonderful fall weather typically and our winters are mild so we are still able to spend a lot of time outdoors. I admit, I don't love this stage as much with Will. I remember taking Kenzie to the park periodically at this age and I didn't love it then either. He is just not able to mesh well with the pa

Family Fun Weekend

This weekend was awesome as we had a lot of family fun time and everyone is ending the weekend tired but happy. Friday, Steven came home a couple of hours early and fulfilled his promise to take Kenzie to the playground in our neighborhood.Unfortunately, he also came home not feeling 100%. We worried that it might slow us down this weekend, but he was quite the trooper and despite not feeling great, he knew we had big plans that Kenzie was really looking forward to (Will still doesn't know the difference, of course) and he didn't want to let her down. He is such an awesome Daddy. Lately, Kenzie has gotten super into riding her balance bike. We were actually starting to worry that we made the wrong choice going to the balance bike instead of a bike with training wheels, but once she started to warm up to the idea of an actual bike, we knew we made the right choice.  We had a good time at the playground. Both kids love it. Will's list of things he can do at a pa

Youngs Do Disney - EPCOT Edition (Plus a bit of Magic thrown in)

Initially, I was going to lump this entire Disney day in with a post I am working on about our weekend, but then the day was just so jam packed that I decided that it was better if I gave it, its own post. So... here you have it. Youngs Do Disney - EPCOT Edition!! We ended up traveling down to Disney Saturday early afternoon. Initially, our plan was to go down later in the afternoon and have an early dinner before doing a few things that we booked FastPasses for, but we decided that it was the perfect time to take Kenzie to have her first haircut. That meant we had to leave earlier. We parked at EPCOT because we knew that we would come out there later in the evening and then transferred over to the Magic Kingdom. That was a lot of work with two kids. There wasn't a ton to it, but there was a lot of walking between getting on monorails, switching monorails and getting in and out of both parks. Plus, to do all of that in a crowd with a stroller, much less a double stroller can
