Friday Favorites - Double Edition

This week's Friday Favorites is actually a double edition. That's because last Tuesday we had a baby! Needless to say, I was sort of busy on Friday as we prepared to be discharged from the hospital after my repeat c-section. I never got around to writing this post. I was exhausted by the time we made it home and yet still had to deal with having a toddler (that I missed so much I just wanted to sit and hold her... if she would ever allow that sort of thing to happen.) I just never got around to posting. This is going to be a pic heavy post because I have so many moments and things I love from the past two weeks.

So, I figure we should start with one of my favorite moments of the last two weeks. One of my favorite moments ever. It ranks right on up there with the birth of Kenzie. That's right... the birth of Will. I will spare you the picture of Will right as he was removed from his home for the last 9 months (it's a bit graphic) and just leave you with these:

Hanging out "laboring" with really inconsistent contractions after my water broke
while I was waiting for my section
Meeting my little guy for the first time!
New baby snuggles
I love watching this little guy sleep
Skin to skin time with my little guy
My other favorite moment in all of this was introducing Kenzie to her new little brother. She thinks he is the bees knees. There are moments that we see her working to figure out her place in all of this, but despite that, she never seems to want to let him out of her sight for too long. She loves to help us change his diaper or strap him in to his swing. She always wants to give him kisses or hug him. I love watching her interact with him.

It looks like Will is even smiling. It might be a cringe. =)

Speaking of Kenzie... I love this girl. I missed her like crazy while we were at the hospital and I have loved every moment with her since we have been home. Okay, maybe not every moment was "loved", but she is still my little sunshine.

Now, I also get to enjoy my favorite new little guy, Will. He is super snuggly and such a good baby.

I also get to do things with my both of my babies now. We enjoy snuggle time in the mornings together. Usually Will is nursing for more than half of our snuggle time, but I count that. =) We also got in some park time this past week.

Ignore my crazy hair. It is morning after all and I have been up at least 5 times
between Will and Kenzie.
Off the subject of children, I was finally able to enjoy a Publix sub. Yum! I was super excited about this. Enough that I need to share it with you.

I got a bit crafty late this week. I saw this on Pinterest and decided it was a super cute idea. These are just clear (shatterproof... we do have two kids and a very large dog) bulbs and put each kiddos hat in it along with their hospital bracelet. I can't wait to get them on the tree this year.

So, what were your favorite moments of the week... or weeks?

Young Summer of Fun - Bucket List Update (Week 12)

Honestly, I debated doing a weekly update for this week because we didn't actually check anything off the summer bucket list... but decided to go ahead and do it because we did do some fun stuff. Plus, there are only two more weeks of this (including this one) so anyone that is actually interested can read it if they want. =) This week was fairly low key. Steven was dealing with his shingles diagnosis so we didn't do anything too crazy because the main reason he likely came down with it was because he is so run down and stressed out. Kenzie had school all week. Well, except Monday but on Monday's, we dance. She did great at dance by the way! She goes to dance each week and then spends the next 6 days asking us if she has dance. We made her a calendar for the fridge that lists her activities and dance is on it. We cross off each day so she can count down to dance. Doesn't matter. She still asks. Wishful thinking, I guess. And she is still rocking school. She is doing...

Spending Time At The Family Dinner Table

I set a few new goals for this school year. I have big plans. Always. Haha! Anyway, my goal has been to try to add one new recipe per week to our rotation of meals as well as use our slow cooker once a week. So far, we have been doing pretty well and so far, we have enjoyed all of our new meals. We did have a week of set back so far when we had no power after Hurricane Irma so that we didn't make any new meals or anything. The current week was another difficult week as we had to spend money restocking some essentials in our kitchen that we lost due to the power outage so we had to hold off on anything new this week, as well. The main goal of all of this has been to add new recipes but also make sure that we are spending time at the dinner table as a family. This is something we have tried to do since our kids have been old enough to understand eating dinner as a family. BC (Before Children) and even when Kenzie was small, we ate in the living room while watching TV a lot, but as ...

Swimming Lessons 2017

This year we returned to Sunny Days Swim School and Ms. Shunda for the kids' swimming lessons. We are so glad we did. We seriously love Ms. Shunda. She is amazing. For anyone that hasn't heard about the kids' lessons before, she teaches Red Cross Certified lessons. It isn't the ISR type of lesson like a lot of children do. Instead, it teaches the kids how to swim and get themselves out of a pool if they fall in (like ISR) but also teaches the basics of beginning swimming such as the freestyle stroke, backstroke, and things like that to build up to more advanced skills later. I think ISR is great for most kids, but it didn't seem like the best fit for our kiddos. They both seem to do so well with the more "traditional" lessons but we required that they be one-on-one in the pool and still focused initially on survival skills. Being that both kids are still in the "preschool aquatics" section though so it is more about survival skills with the la...
