Double Digits!

It's official! As of today, Steven and I have officially been married for 10 years. We have hit double digits. Well, that is... we have hit double digits for years married, though we have been together for 16 years. In honor of our big day, I thought we would play a sort of "By the Numbers". So, here we go!

10. Number of years we have been married.

9. Age of our oldest (fur)baby. We got Jack in January 2007 though he was born in November 2006. He has been with us almost the entire time we have been married. We couldn't have asked for a better dog. Never a chewer. Almost housebroken when we got him (thanks to him being fostered as a puppy). Super easy going and rarely anxious. We won the doggie lottery. Except for that whole thousands upon thousands worth of dollars we had to pay to fix his knee. Old sports injury... you know how it is.

8. Number of fish we have. (I'm sort of grasping for straws here on some of these...) We used to have more, but they are all about the same age and recently started to drop like flies. 8 is a sort of small number when you have a 55 gallon tank... We should probably get on that.

7. Number of jobs we have held and supported each other through in the time we have been married. (Steven: Cherry Lake Tree Farm and his current job at CH2M, Kristen: insurance - associate underwriter, school psychology intern, school psychologist for OCPS, stay-at-home mom, and privately licensed school psych)

6. Number of miles we plan to run (collectively) to celebrate our anniversary. We might be going a little crazy around here. 10 years? Let's run! But you know... the couple that runs together... has matching shin splints. Or something like that. =)

5. Number of times we have visited the Keys (overnight)  together. It's significant because it's our favorite vacation destination. We could seriously go every year and not tire of it. We won't make it this year... but we are shooting for next year.

4. Number of houses we have lived in since we have been married. We initially lived in a condo in Metrowest before moving to Apopka. We lived here in two different homes before moving into the first house we bought a little over 6 years ago now.

3. Number of 3 day cruises we have taken. We love cruising. Probably our preferred way of travel. We have taken a 10 day cruise too, but quick 3 day jaunts are some of our favorites. I spent 2 of those pregnant so we would definitely like to take another one soon when we can both enjoy the cruise to the fullest. ;) Then, one of these days we plan to take the kids on a Disney cruise because... well, Disney.

2. Number of amazing children we have. We have been so blessed that God gave us these two special little babies to raise and love for the rest of our lives. Plus, they are so freaking cute!

1. Happy family. We have come so far in the last 16 years. We have grown together and can't imagine life in any other way. We might argue at times, but that's life. We love and respect one another and the family we have built together. 10 years down... many, many more to go!

The best part of our 10 years together?
These two...

14 Weeks... Welcome to the Second Trimester!

Baby’s Size: Lemon How far along:  14 Weeks Total weight gain: 2 lbs and I am still okay with that. Sleep:  Pretty good. I can’t complain at this point. We were out of town last week so it wasn’t as good being that we weren’t home and in our own comfy bed, but overall it has been pretty good. Maternity Clothes:  Finally broke out the maternity shirts. Just one at this point and mainly so that my stomach wouldn’t stick out.  Food cravings:  Nothing really. I’m pretty boring when it comes to this. I was last time too…    Food aversions: Nothing other than those dumb burritos at this point.      Symptoms I HAVE: I’m feeling pretty good. Still some random nausea and I still get tired some afternoons. Exhausted, actually. Other than that though, it’s pretty good. Stretchmarks:  Still no new ones. The old ones are really light. I did notice that my c-section scar has been really dark this past week. I have no idea why. Doctor’s Appointment:  May 5 th . Still wai

A Day In the Life... Sheltered in Place Edition

Being home non-stop has made me want to start paying more attention to the blog again. Though, I think I am going to keep with only using this as a place to store memories mostly for myself and our family to read later. I guess I will continue to share the big things, like Will's 1/2 birthday post this week. We'll see. Anyway...  So this is not the first time I have done a "Day In The Life" style post, but this one is way different than our normal. I made a post about the whole Shelter In Place a couple of weeks ago. We have settled into a sort of schedule or routine so I wanted to document that for our own memories. One day we will back to running around like crazy people trying to get it all done, and I think it will be interesting to remember what life was life during our shelter in place time. This post is typical of our weekdays. Our weekends are less structured and more family time. During the week, we have distance learning and working going on so we k

Happy Fourth of July!!! (A Few Days Late...)

There is no way I was going to get around to posting this blog prior to now. It has been a crazy week or so since my birthday. I couldn't let the holiday pass (too much) without recapping it. =) I barely remember July 4th last year. I know that we didn't do anything. Kenzie was almost a year old, had a bed time that I didn't want to mess up, and we were afraid she might be scared of the fireworks so we sat at home, did our usual and went to bed while our neighbors were still lighting fireworks off. We spent the night playing every American's favorite game... "Firework or gunshot?" In our neck of the woods... you never can tell. Might be someone having a bit of target practice. Regardless, this year we decided to throw caution to the wind and attempt to enjoy some actual fireworks. Every year there is a big to do down at Lake Eola. We have been before (or at least gotten pretty close because we had some friends that lived downtown and we could see the
