Happy Half Birthday, Kenzie!!!

This little fireball is celebrating 2... and a HALF today! I can't believe it. She is such a happy and energetic child. I hope she never changes. Kenzie is always chatting away, singing, or dancing and she (almost) always has a smile on her face. When I think about what it is like to love life... this girl is it. We could all take a lesson from her and learn to live life to the fullest.

Warning... Picture overload ahead... =) Take a gander at Kenzie from 2 years to 2 1/2 years old. Our little blue eyed, blonde bundle of excitement. She's not so little anymore.















I have to mention that this is probably my favorite picture
of Kenzie... EVER. It definitely captures who she truly is.





Oh! And by the way... if anyone is interested in knowing what living with a toddler is like... This. This is how we started our picture taking experience this morning. I took about 75 pictures... 2 were okay. Most looked like this.


Happy half birthday to our stubborn, independent, strong willed, beautiful, loving, happy (most of the time) little sunshine. (Though she would not be happy that I called her any of those things right now. Crazy kid.)

Eight is Great!

Today Kenzie is EIGHT! It's so crazy. We have an 8 year old. Only two years away from double digits. A third grader. A girl that is quickly becoming a preteen. There is only a year left (technically) until that is officially the stage we are in. Though I have to say... she acts more and more like an actual preteen every day of her life. She's too much. We often joke that she is 8 going on 28, but in all honesty, she is an old soul and often acts much older than her years. At 8-years-old, Kenzie... - Is still the friendliest kid I know. She loves with her whole heart. She hates to hurt anyone's feelings. The downside is that her feelings get hit hard when someone isn't nice to her. We have had to deal with that on occasion, especially in the last year when we had a run in with a girl that Kenzie thought was her friend but she ended up being not really nice to Kenzie in the long run. Young Summer of Fun - Bucket List Update (Week 9)

This week we managed to check quite a few things off of our bucket list. The week itself was pretty low key though. (Beware: Super pic heavy post coming up!) We started our week by having Kenzie's 4-year-old well check on Monday. After a quick breakfast and some play time at Chick Fil A since we never went for her birthday, we headed over to the doc's office. Her appointment went really well. She did so great! She is officially 41 inches tall (77th percentile) and 37.6 pounds (70th percentile). Her weight percentile has jumped; however, when you compare it with her height, it makes her the perfect BMI apparently. They also took her blood pressure for the first time ever with the cuff. It was pretty cute. I had to google blood pressure in children and learned that the levels are dependent on sex, age, and height percentiles. So, after all that, I figured out that her BP is at the 50th percentile so it is spot on for where she should be. The doc also had her bend forward so ...

Young Summer of Fun - Bucket List Update (Week 11)

It's the final countdown! We officially have about 2 weeks left until the end of "summer" and therefore the end of our bucket list. We managed to check something off the list this week. We have just a couple left. There are two things that I do not believe we will be able to do, but I think getting everything but two things done is pretty awesome. We also added on quite a few fun things that I didn't actually add to the list and still have a few more fun things planned over the next 2 weeks. We will see how it all goes. Anyway, this week has been fun. Tiring. But fun. This was Kenzie's first week of VPK. And let me tell you... she rocked it. She is LOVING it. I know we are only 1 week in but I am still so glad to see her loving school again and doing so well already.
