9 Months In... 9 Months Out

Dear William, Nope. Nope. Nope. I am not sitting here writing your 9 MONTH LETTER! I can't believe it. You are now officially 39 weeks old. That means that you have officially been earthside for exactly as long as you were in utero. That is just mindblowing to me. I love that you are growing into such an amazing little man. We had your official 9 month doctor's visit this morning. That means that for the first time in a few months we have an official height and weight for you. Drumroll please! You are officially 20 pounds, 3 ounces (50th percentile) and 29 inches (76th percentile). You are following the same path as your sister so far. Once you started becoming more mobile, you started slimming. You are tall and slim according to the pediatrician. Despite all that chub on your legs, you are actually fairly thin. I hope that trend keeps up for you throughout your life. We shall see. I have noticed that you are starting to thin out too so this just solidified my thoughts...

9 Years Later

I've mentioned that July is a crazy, busy month for us. Today, Steven and I are celebrating 9 years of marriage! I can't believe that it was 9 years ago that we stood in front of our friends and families as witnesses to our vows. We have actually been together much longer than 9 years. We started dating all the way back in 2000 when I was still in high school and Steven was about to begin college. Who would have thought that a couple of  young kids that met through Steven's sister while working at McDonald's would be together 15 years later, celebrating 9 years of marriage? We have definitely had our ups and downs through the last 9 (actually, 15) years, but we have a lot of love and respect for one another. We may fight at times but we always figure it out (eventually). 9 years later we are still going strong! Plus, without this marriage, these two adorable kids would have never happened. =) This picture captures our kids' personalities perfect....

Let Freedom Ring

Happy birthday, America! This weekend was Fourth of July weekend. This is always a busy time in our home as it starts the month of July and my birthday falls just a couple days prior to the fourth. This year we were go, go, go for a lot of the weekend. My birthday was Thursday. Steven ended up working really early to really late Monday through Wednesday so he was luckily able to take the day off on Thursday. My birthday started much earlier than I think I would have preferred though. I think Will decided that he HAD to be the first to wish me a happy birthday so he took it upon himself to wake up at 12:08am (his sleep has been more iffy than usual lately). He did end up doing me a favor though and after waking up just before 6am to nurse he slept until 8am. We call that sleeping in around here. I was woken up just before 8am by an adorable little blond haired, blue eyed girl wishing me a happy birthday along with her daddy. Those are the moments that make my day. We all hung out i...

Hello Sweet Summertime!

It is officially almost that time of year. No, not actual summer. That started a few days ago. It's almost July. Anyone who knows us well (or maybe not even that well) knows that July is by far the busiest month of the year for us. We literally count down to July as we begin to approach it every year because we are mentally preparing ourselves for the month. The first July event we hit is my birthday. We are going very, very low key this year with our birthdays as we have chosen to spend more time and effort on our kids and less on ourselves at this point. We still have plans to meet up with both sets of parents to have lunch to celebrate. Then, we have July 4th. Every year we try to go down to Lake Eola to see the fireworks. Steven's office is right on the lake so we can actually sit upstairs in his office and watch the fireworks from an air conditioned room with a nice bathroom down the hall. The only way to do the fireworks. =) The Monday after July 4th is going to be W...

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star(band)

Well, today was the day. We experienced what we were informed could be called the "Enlightenment Appointment." Luckily, Steven was able to stay home today and go with us to this appointment. This is actually the first helmet related appointment that he has been able to attend so it was nice having him there. As of today Will has worn his helmet for approximately 5 1/2 weeks. We were initially informed that we could expect him to wear it around 10-12 weeks total. As I have mentioned before, his flattening is minimal. We were more concerned with the alignment of his ears and his forehead being pushed forward. Today we didn't see Ms. Jackie but saw a very nice woman whose name escapes me at the moment. We made it there really early and the kids played together (very nicely might I add) until it was time for our appointment. This appointment took place in a different room than we usually go into. This one had the black box of torture. Gasp! Luckily, Will didn...

8 Months! That's 2/3 of the way to 1 year! Stop it!

Dear Will, Happy 8 months my dear Little Man! I cannot believe 8 months has passed by so quickly. It seems like yesterday we brought you home from the hospital, then I blinked, and now we are here. This is just crazy. You are such a adorable and loving little guy. You seriously have an awesome personality and I still can't believe that you are ours sometimes. We got pretty lucky. So, we do not have your next doctor's appointment until next month. That means we are again left to our own devices when it comes to gathering your height and weight. As usual, it should be taken with a grain of salt. We aren't the experts. You weigh right around 20 pounds. I came up with 28 inches again this month. It is possible that your growth has slowed, but based on how you go through clothing I think you are growing. I was either off and estimated you high before or I am off now and am estimating you low. We will see for sure next month at the doc. You are entirely in 12 month c...
