Eight is Great!

Today Kenzie is EIGHT! It's so crazy. We have an 8 year old. Only two years away from double digits. A third grader. A girl that is quickly becoming a preteen. There is only a year left (technically) until that is officially the stage we are in. Though I have to say... she acts more and more like an actual preteen every day of her life. She's too much. We often joke that she is 8 going on 28, but in all honesty, she is an old soul and often acts much older than her years. At 8-years-old, Kenzie... - Is still the friendliest kid I know. She loves with her whole heart. She hates to hurt anyone's feelings. The downside is that her feelings get hit hard when someone isn't nice to her. We have had to deal with that on occasion, especially in the last year when we had a run in with a girl that Kenzie thought was her friend but she ended up being not really nice to Kenzie in the long run. Just Keep Dancing - Dance Recap 2018

I promised I would write up a quick recap of Kenzie's year in dance to document how she did and what it was like. This year she took a Combo 1 Ballet/Jazz class. Last season when we talked about it, she decided to go with jazz rather than tap (in addition to ballet that is taught with both classes) and I think she is so glad that she did. It was her first year with a different teacher as she had the same teacher for Pre-K 1 and 2. Her teacher this year was amazing. So great in fact that we signed up for her Combo 2 class next season and Kenzie is very excited. Kenzie has really grown this year. She loves jazz. Her recital dance this year was jazz and I think she actually found it a fun break from ballet. She likes ballet and I once thought that is where she may want to focus once she finishes the combo classes, but I could see her choosing jazz now. Bring on Summer - Summer Bucket List 2017

Well, Memorial Day is two weeks away and although summer doesn't officially begin for a few weeks after that, Memorial Day serves as a sort of break in timing for us and at that point we consider it to be "summer". This means that our Spring Happenings List is just about over. In reality, we have gone as far as we likely can with it. Here was our initial list: UCF Basketball Game UCF Baseball Game Touch A Truck Event at UCF Pinkilicious: The Musical (for Kenzie and myself) Orlando Science Center Becoming Junior Rangers at a Florida state park (for the kids...  ) Visiting a few new state parks that we haven't been to before St. Augustine Alligator Farm St. Augustine Lighthouse Movie Night at the Apopka Amphitheater Strawberry Picking Disney Trips We ended up doing a lot of the things we hoped.
