Young Party of Four

Three more weeks of summer (minus the weekend coming up which will likely have its own post hence the reason this post doesn't include Week 4) have passed now. I decided to combine these weeks as far as blogging goes because minimal happened most of that time. Steven has been traveling a lot lately. He doesn't go too far necessarily as he is only in Melbourne, but it is far enough that he has to stay overnight when he is there. He has been gone 3-5 days a week for three weeks now. It's been tough at times for all of us. We made it work though and now we are hoping he is done for a while. He was supposed to have to go back next week for a day or two but we think he has gotten enough done that he won't need to for a while. Anyway, while all that was going on, I was holding down the Young fort over here. It also meant that we were all tired and not much happened for the bucket list. Another year of dance is in the books. Kenzie's second year of dance is officially over after this weekend. Kenzie performed in her second recital, Celebrate!, (if you don't count the Christmas "recital" that the studio does in December) with Kidz Dance. This year she took a Pre-School 2 level class. It was (again) a combo class of ballet, tap, and tumbling. Her final class was this last week. Her class was a little different than normal. They did their usual warm ups and then were given their season trophies that they get every year. My favorite part of the entire thing was that all the parents (and siblings) get to go into the studio to take pictures and what not. Will watched the entire trophy process for a while and then (very seriously) looked at me and said, "Mommy. Please hold my pouch. I need to get my trophy." Hahahahaha! Killed me. (That might be the toddler equivalent of "Hold my beer.") He was perfectly fine though not getting one....

I think I failed to mention in the last post (though the title should have given us away) that this week is fulfilling one of our bucket list items. This year we added back "Stay with Nana and Papa" to the list. The difference in this year and last year is that last year it was mainly the kids that stayed with Nana and Papa. I did too because we also used it as a day to get the carpets cleaned but that meant that Steven wasn't there. This year, he has been able to stay as well. We have talked about the possibility of letting the kids stay with them another night but we will likely be so busy in the next few months that we didn't know if that would even be an option. Anyway, I wanted to make mention that we are filling in a checkbox on the bucket list this week. Also, one main difference with how we work on our bucket list versus our Spring Happenings list is that our spring events were planned out week by week beforehand.
